About the Course

Through workshops, classes and group work you will become familiar with the skills and knowledge that will serve as a perfect starting point for future education in Musical Theatre. Throughout the course you will become familiar with jazz dance, vocal techniques, acting through song and ensemble work. You will also have the opportunity to learn acting and improvisation techniques.

Develop skills in:

Jazz Dance | Breathing techniques | Placement in singing | Character Development | Communication through song


  • Maximum class size of 16 students

  • Excursions to London (including gallery or museum visit)

  • Full board residential accommodation


This course requires an Upper Intermediate - Advanced Level of English


Package Includes:


  • 1 or 2 weeks stay

  • 25+ Hours a week of tuition comprised of workshops and rehearsals working towards a final performance.

  • Full board Residential Accommodation in single, en-suite rooms

  • 1 full-day excursion per week to major destinations such as London where students will find creative and cultural information through guided walks and visits to museums and other places of interest.

  • 5 evening activities per week designed to be fun and interactive and provide our students the opportunity to socialise and make new friends.

  • End of course Certificate awarded for the successful completion of the course and final performance

  • 24 hour supervision and security

About the School

This popular, fun and challenging course is led by theatre professionals, all of whom have worked on stage and/or screen and have extensive teaching experience. Students can expect a series of rigorous and intensive classes per week in singing, dancing and acting, geared towards a cabaret style performance at the end of each week.

PROGRESSION AT CSVPA

Completion of the course can enable progression on to our University of the Arts London Awarding Body Extended Diploma or Foundation Diploma if you meet the UAL entry criteria for the course.


PROGRAMME OUTCOMES:


1. You will have a explored range of practical work within singing, dance and acting.

2. You will have worked toward the integration of song with dance and acting.

3. You will have gained stamina as a performer, and confidence to present your newly acquired and developing skills from the two weeks in front of an audience.

4. You will have enjoyed the sense of community developed while rehearsing.
