I’m Monica Di Natale, founder of TECLA Languages, a London-based agency specialising in organising English and Spanish language study stays for both children and adults.
In 2024, we were proud to be honoured with the Service Excellence Award, a testament to our commitment to quality. In February, we received the Diamond Distinction Award for Outstanding Customer Experience in Study Abroad Programs 2026. This recognition reflects our dedication to delivering personalised support, high-quality programmes, and exceptional care to every student.

While we are incredibly proud of these achievements, the journey to this point was far from easy. In the early days, the challenges were significant, and success often felt out of reach.
My journey began in Italy, where my passion for exploring new cultures was sparked by attending language courses abroad. Each experience left a lasting impression—the places I discovered, the people I met, and the personal growth I experienced. These moments opened my eyes to a wider world and, without realising it at the time, were shaping my future and life’s work.
In 1997, I arrived in the UK with just a suitcase and a dream. The road wasn’t easy—I worked long hours in hospitality before moving into recruitment, and later into teaching English and Spanish.
What started as a small passion project—helping friends find language courses—eventually led to the founding of TECLA Languages in 2009. Building a business in a foreign country brought many challenges, and I quickly realised that passion alone wasn’t enough. To grow, I needed to develop my skills and become a stronger business leader.
I chose to surround myself with driven, like-minded individuals, which led me to the Big Business Events group and the mentorship of Forbes coach Adam Stott. With their guidance and the support of other successful entrepreneurs, I gained the knowledge and confidence to elevate TECLA Languages. This journey has taught me the importance of continuous learning, personal growth, and connecting with people who inspire you to improve.
Today, I’m proud to say we are on the right path. My husband Ernesto has joined TECLA Languages as Co-Director and CFO, and together we continue to grow the business. Being recognised with both the Service Excellence Award and the Diamond Distinction Award, along with features in multiple publications, reflects how far we’ve come. It’s incredible to think that it all began with a suitcase and a receptionist role. This journey proves that no dream is too big when driven by determination, hard work, and the right support.
