About the Course

Through workshops, group projects and practical tasks, you will become acquainted with the skills and knowledge that will serve as a perfect starting point for future education and possible careers in the animation industry. Throughout the course you will become familiar with storyboarding, 3D modelling, sculpting, animation and rigging along with relevant software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Animate, ZBrush and Blender.


  • Maximum class size of 14 students

  • Excursions to London (including gallery or museum visit)

  • Full board residential accommodation


This course requires an Upper Intermediate - Advanced Level of English

  • 25+ Hours tuition comprised of workshops focusing on practical skills and techniques working towards the production of a film clip

  • Full board Residential Accommodation in single, en-suite rooms

  • 1 full-day excursion per week to major destinations such as London where students will find creative and cultural information through guided walks and visits to museums and other places of interest.

  • 5 evening activities per week designed to be fun and interactive and provide our students the opportunity to socialise and make new friends.

About the School

This exciting one-week course is ideal for any budding animator who wants to develop their traditional and digital animation techniques. Over the course of the week, you will understand the fundamental principles of character design, layout, story boarding and animation. Using cel and stop motion character animation, together with editing conventions you will learn how to produce animated sequences and stories..

PROGRESSION AT CSVPA

Completion of the course can enable progression on to our University of the Arts London Awarding Body Extended Diploma or Foundation Diploma if you meet the UAL entry criteria for the course.


PROGRAMME OUTCOMES:


1. You will learn how to construct narrative using storyboard and character design techniques

2. You will explore how to make an animated sequence using the latest Adobe software

3. You will be introduced to 3D modelling using Sculptris and/or Blender
