Accommodation

Students will stay in Haileybury’s single-sex boarding houses under the care and supervision of House Parents. You will have access to our School Nurse. In the event of an emergency, hospitals are located within close proximity to the campus as well. Most rooms are single, although there are a number of double and triple rooms. In order to enhance the international experience, any roommates tend to be those from other countries. We can take, but not guarantee, room assignment requests. Boarding houses have small kitchens where pupils over 13 years can make a hot drink. There are common rooms where you can watch TV, play some table tennis or just chat and relax with friends. Houses are securely protected with on-site 24-hour security patrols. All Houses have secure wifi which is turned off between 10.00 pm and 7.00 am to ensure a good sleep. There is a laundry service once a week.

Evening Activities

In the evenings we a have huge variety of fun activities for you to try. Some are relaxing, some active and others will bring out your creativity. They are all social and give you the chance to speak English with new friends.

On some days, there will be a whole-school event such as outdoor cinema, silent disco or fashion show.

On other days you will have a choice of activities: sports (for example swimming, tennis, badminton, squash, rugby, football, cricket), yoga, crafts, cooking or something a bit different such as zorbing or circus skills

Study Tours

The course includes a range of study tours and excursions to beautiful places such as London, Greenwich, Oxford or Cambridge. We don’t only visit museums, but take engaging and interactive workshops that bring learning to life and enhance language acquisition and cultural understanding.

These excursions are an integral part of summer school and really bring the language to life. Some excursion tasks are incorporated into lessons to maximise learning opportunities. During the full-day in London and some of the two half-day trips, pupils will visit a museum related to their chosen pathway and enjoy interactive workshops with museum professionals, as well as enjoying a cultural experience such as the London Eye, a boat trip, walking tour or Cambridge punting.
