About the School

This Summer School takes place at Earlscliffe School, a leading independent school in the UK. The programme offers teenage students a great combination of English language learning, cultural excursions and activities, providing a truly memorable summer experience.

The School

Not far from the world-famous White Cliffs of Dover, Earlscliffe Summer School is located in the English coastal town of Folkestone. Situated a short train journey from London, Earlscliffe is highly regarded for its achievements in producing outstanding A-Level results and also its prestigious status as a UNESCO School The recently renovated campus provides the perfect learning environment for academic achievement.

Formed of eight Victorian and Edwardian buildings, at Earlscliffe campus students can enjoy an inspiring environment that quickly feels like a home from home. With its recently renovated residential facilities, life on campus feels both comfortable and modern.

The school is what is known as an ‘in-town’ campus of buildings, meaning that students can easily walk between classes, meals, accommodation and activities, which helps new students to settle into this new environment quickly and feel part of a learning community where students can get to know one another.

All students live in the school’s own, supervised residences which are located within a few minutes’ walk of both the main building and the school house classrooms.

Accommodation

Earlscliffe Summer School offers students high-quality student residences. Girls and boys live in separate, supervised accommodations. Rooms are mostly twin or triple rooms and all have en-suite WC and showers. The ‘in-town’ campus means that students can walk between their classes, to meals, accommodation, and activities with ease.

Meals are held in the dining room. We offer a varied menu with a mixture of British and international cuisine. Dietary requirements can be catered to upon special request in advance of your course.

Social Activities

Students at Earlscliffe Summer School enjoy a balanced programme including sports, arts and crafts, and cultural events. The programme is delivered across the campus and nearby sports centre facilities.

The seaside location of the summer school enables students to take regular daytime and evening trips to the beach, whilst the campus’s proximity to Folkestone’s town centre provides the opportunity for students to visit an array of shops and cafes.

Excursions

Earlscliffe Summer School students will enjoy full-day trips on Wednesdays and Sundays, as well as evening trips to bowling, laser tag or the cinema.

On Sundays students may visit: the world-famous cathedral city of Canterbury, take a river boat tour; go ice-skating, visit Bluewater shopping centre; a theme park, Margate and Dreamland or Windsor Castle.
