WORK AND STUDY
Study Permit Holders may gain work experience by working on or off campus while completing their studies.
Full-time Post-Secondary students may qualify to work off campus without a work permit. If you meet the eligibility criteria your study permit will allow you to work up to 20 hours per week during regular academic sessions and full time during scheduled breaks, such as the winter and summer holidays.
There are many opportunities to get involved through clubs and activities at the school, as well as throughout the city. you make new friends, learn about time management, and develop your organizational, teamwork and leadership skills. Volunteer experience helps you learn more about Canadian society and the skills you gain can be used throughout your life.
POST GRADUATE WORK PERMIT PROGRAMME
This Programme allows students who have graduated from Columbia College with an Associate Degree to gain valuable Canadian work experience. Skilled Canadian work experience gained through this programme helps graduate qualify for permanent residence in Canada.
A work permit under the PGWPP may be issued for12 to 36 months depending on the length of your study programme.
In order to apply student must have a valid study permit and provide proof of graduation.
