The school has four recently refurbished boarding houses, all on the safe and self-contained campus. The campus features fantastic on-site sports facilities including a 25m indoor swimming pool, arts centre, gymnasium and large playing fields for outdoor sports. The attractions of Toronto are all within easy reach for students to enjoy – the city centre is just 40 minutes away. Within your two-week stay, you will enjoy a visit to the famous CN tower and an excursion to the breathtaking Niagara Falls – including a helicopter ride so you can take in the unforgettable view.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURES

All arrivals and departures should be on Sundays. If students wish to arrive or depart on a Saturday, one way supplementary fees will be charged.

Saturday arrivals and departures are arranged subject to availability. Please let us know in advance so we can arrange suitable airport transfers .

 

COURSES

General English courses are designed to provide students with the confidence and skills they need to communicate more effectively in English. Classes are small and lessons are carefully structured, moreover a learner-centred approach help the teachers to meet students' need and mean students learn faster.

Classes are fast paced and interactive, using real-life materials and situations, and will encourage students to participate and motivate them to learn. Teachers focus on building students'confidence in using the language and greater fluency across the skills.

 

MEALS

All meals are provided in the large, comfortable cafeterias on campus except on excursions when a packed-lunch is given to all students . Wholesome and varied food is served and special dietary requirements can be catered for. Please advise us at the time of enrolment if a student has any special dietary requirements. Please contact us for a sample menu.

 

BREAKAGE MEDICAL DEPOSITS AND GUARDIANSHIP FEES

Breakages and Medical Deposits: Please note that a deposit of £80 (Canterbury, Cambridge, London, Nottingham and Southampton), US$100 (Florida, Harvard, New York, Philadelphia, San Diego, San Francisco, and Yale) and CAN$100 (Toronto and Vancouver) or equivalent sum in Euros is payable in cash on arrival, and will be collected from all students on the first day of their course.

The breakages deposit will be returned to students with a deduction made if any for loss of keys and/or personal damage to any property of the school has occurred.

Students studying the US and Canada are also requested to pay a refundable deposit of US/CAN$100 to cover the insurance excess payable for any medical expenses in the event that the student is ill and requires treatment.

Please note that a guardianship fee of CAD$100.00 is payable on all junior courses in Toronto and Vancouver.

 

RULES FOR STUDENTS

Students must follow the law of the land, which means  that

 nstudent can buy cigarettes/tobacc(it is illegal to buy cigarettes/tobaccin the USA if you are under the age of 18):

The use of alcohol and drugs is strictly forbidden and will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Students found to be in possession of alcohol or drugs may be reported to the police and their course terminated. No smoking is permitted while on the course.  This applies to all students.

Students are expected to keep their bedrooms tidy and put their litter in bins provided.  Students are not permitted to leave the campus unsupervised.

The school reserves the right to terminate without notice the course of any student who persistently misconducts him/herself during the programme, or who fails to meet the attendance requirements of the course. There is no refund of fees to students whose courses are terminated in this way.

WHAT TO BRING

Students should bring summer clothes as well as waterproof jackets, swimwear, trainers (sports shoes) for outside usage, white -soled sports shoes for use in the sports hall,  and a towel.. Students should also bring, an alarm clock and hairdryer if needed. Students should remember to bring an adaptor for their mobile phone charger and other electrical items. We advise that students do not bring valuable items such as expensive watches, jewellery, valuable electronic items, expensive cameras etc.

However, valuables and items such as passports and airline tickets can be handed over to the school staff for safe keeping. The school cannot accept responsibility for the loss of items or money unless given to them for safe keeping.

ACTIVITPROGRAMMES

All  Residential courses include a comprehensive  Activity Programme of excursions, sports and activities – Full activity programme every afternoon and evening, including a variety of sports and other activities

One full-day and one half-day excursions per week. The school reserves the right to cancel or to offer substitute activities on the optional activities programmes in the event of fewer than 10 students opting for any individual activity.
