More Information

Rossall Summer language school is located on the beautiful North West Coast of England next to the seaside town of Blackpool. It’s ideal location means that Rossall School is not far from major cities such as Manchester and Liverpool. Fantastic transport facilities also provide easy access to York, Liverpool and the Lake District.

At Rossall students stay in comfortable rooms of mainly single or twin beds. Shared showers and toilets are cleaned and maintained on a regular basis.

We make every effort to ensure that rooms are shared with children of different nationalities and similar age when students are in twin accommodation to encourage them to speak English outside the classroom and make new friends. Parents may request for their child to share with a particular friend(s) and this will be considered but cannot always be guaranteed.

There is a social room in each boarding house where children can watch TV/DVDs, listen to music, play board games etc. Children usually relax in the social room with a hot chocolate drink before bedtime. Our professional and experienced staff stay in the boarding houses to ensure safety and 24 hour supervision.

The boarding houses of the Rossall summer residential camp also have separate study rooms which are all equipped with lockers for the students to store valuables if required. Padlocks for the lockers are not included.

Students will appreciate the impressive Harry Potter style dining room of the Rossall summer residential camp where a wide variety of healthy and balanced meals served at mealtimes including English and international dishes.

There is always a vegetarian option on the menu as well as fresh fruit and various salads. Staff members always eat their meals with the students which encourages English conversation.

During the afternoons there is a choice of 4 to 6 activity options, at least two of which are non-sporting. Activities include, for example, beach games, basketball, swimming, drama workshops, cricket, volleyball, music, yoga, dance, jewellery making, art and craft (and many more!).

Every Friday afternoon children will visit the local, popular seaside town of Blackpool where they can play in the arcades, see the famous Blackpool Tower and visit Blackpool beach and Pleasure Beach.

Every Friday evening there is a barbecue followed by a formal presentation of prizes and leavers’ certificates followed by a disco.

During their final lessons all students receive advice from their teachers on how they can continue to improve their English when they return home. They also receive a certificate of attendance and a report from their teacher.
