Prior Park College – Bath – Ages 10-17

Designed in 1830 by the famous architect John Wood the Elder, this grand Palladian mansion was once the home of Ralph Allen, the entrepreneur who rebuilt Bath using the controversial Bath stone.

Bath has a range of shops, restaurants and leisure facilities and provides very easy access to London by rail or bus, as well as the two major London airports – Gatwick is 2 hours and Heathrow is only 90 minutes away.

Students are divided by age groups:

  • 10 to 15
  • 16 - 17

A good standard of accommodation with separate houses for boys and girls. The rooms are mainly single and double rooms with some 3, 4, 5 & 6 bedded rooms. The boys’ accommodation has been completely refurbished in the last two years. The girls’ accommodation is very comfortable with three common rooms, a kitchen and a dining room.

All meals are provided by the college in the artistic dining hall. There is a wide variety on offer on the menu from traditional ‘fish & chips’ to pasta. The food is fresh and tasty and there is a wonderful salad bar too. We can cater for all dietary needs including vegetarian.

Wide open playing fields, tennis courts, cricket pitch, a heated indoor swimming pool, a sports hall, an all weather astro turf pitch, ample common rooms, spacious theatre, comfortable classrooms.

Students receive 3 hours actual teaching per day, total 15 hours per week. Residential Courses have morning lessons and afternoon sports and activities.  All members of a group must have the same course of lessons.

The safety of our junior students is our prime concern. We ensure that they are always under the supervision of the school's trained staff whether in class or participating in activities. Home-stay junior students are placed in experienced families.  Each centre has a junior liaison officer responsible for overall supervision.

Social Club excursion tickets are sold to junior students aged 15 and under on the condition that they agree to stay with the staff escort, group leader or another responsible adult at all times.  For those kids residing with families, after full day coach trips we arrange for students to leave the coach close to their families and after evening activities. Activity Leaders will ensure that their students get home safely.

NOTE: Please note that children aged 10 and 11 must have a Residential Course.

Students taking a Residential Course need only bring their personal spending money - everything else is included. Student's pocket money may be deposited with the centre either before or on arrival. Notice of 2 days must be given when large amounts of pocket money are required.

All Residential courses and Residential Home-stay courses include a comprehensive Activity Programme of excursions, sports and activities. The programmes are run by the resident Activity Leaders and their teams.

The school reserves the right to amend the activity programme according to prevailing circumstances and to substitute one activity for another.

The replacement will be of equal or greater value. The school also reserves the right to change the order of activities . Tickets are non-transferable. Booking for an activity programme or additional trips must normally be for the complete group. We cannot guarantee a choice of Social Club activities for reservations made after April 15th.
