ACADEMIC PROGRAMME

Students at the Eastbourne Centre will have 20 hours of classes per week. 5 mornings a week will always be within a classroom environment but the last lesson which takes place one afternoon per week could be a debating session or a lesson at the local law courts or other places of cultural and literary interest. Class sizes are kept small with an absolute maximum of 14 students per class to ensure that all students get close and personal attention.

All teachers are native English speakers who have degrees and qualifications to teach English as a foreign language. On the first Monday after students arrive they will sit a short placement test so that they are put in the correct class. Every Friday student will do a progress check to ensure that they are still at the right level. On departure students will be presented with a Certificate of Attendance and formal written reports from their teacher and the Course Director. Each week every teacher will also give a prize for "Most Improved Student" and "Best Student" in their class.
