Sporting facilities on offer at the nearby King’s School sports centre include an indoor swimming pool, gym, tennis and squash courts, and outdoor playing fields.

The King’s School has a history dating back to 597 AD making it the oldest site on which a school has been located in Britain. The school is set in the beautiful grounds of Canterbury Cathedral and St Augustine’s Abbey – both World Heritage Sites – right in the heart of Canterbury.

Modern accommodation, teaching, and recreational facilities combined with the medieval school buildings and grounds offer a magical experience. Lessons take place in the Canterbury Cathedral grounds, whilst the residential accommodation is on the St Augustine’s Abbey site, just five minutes’ walk away.

The centre is home to two of our courses; Canterbury Juniors is focused on younger students and offers additional levels of supervision and care; Canterbury Seniors is aimed at older students who want to have the traditional boarding school experience. The campus has beautiful grounds and playing fields. The city centre and the King’s School Recreation Centre are a short distance away, boasting excellent sports facilities which our students use regularly.

English Plus Sport Options of Fencing and Tennis takes place here on two afternoons per week and offer students the chance to receive tuition from experienced and qualified coaches to improve their techniques and skills.
