The Cambridge centre is located at Sidney Sussex College, founded in 1596, as part of The University of Cambridge.  Sidney Sussex is located in the very heart of this stunning city.

The University of Cambridge is the world’s leading university, and the campus offers ambitious learners the opportunity to experience living and learning at this international centre of excellence.

The College offers the classical Cambridge experience, with accommodation, classrooms and dining of an excellent standard. This is an intensive 25 lessons per week course of language coaching – in a small, highly personal, and very focused centre. With a maximum class size of 12, this programme is intended for serious learners looking to maximise their progress.

ARRIVAL  AND DEPARTURES

All arrivals and departures should be on Sundays. If students wish to arrive or depart on a Saturday, one way supplementary fees will be charged.

Saturday arrivals and departures are arranged subject to availability. Please let us know in advance so we can arrange suitable airport transfers .

Please note: Courses run from Sunday to Sunday.

All prices are based on arrivals and departures on Sundays. Arrival and departure on other days is only available at limited centres and is subject to availability. Non-Sunday arrival or departure will incur a supplementary charge of £100 or US/Can$200 in addition to the extra night charge, available on request.

Unaccompanied Minors: Any student travelling as an Unaccompanied Minor (UM) must pay our UM fee of £50/US$100/Can$100 per single journey

 

COURSES

An intensive course of 25 lessons per week of language coaching per week – in a small, highly personal, and very focused centre. Students will have 20 General English lessons a week in the mornings and in the afternoons can either take 5 more General English lessons or they can take the British University Studies Course, designed for students who are thinking of studying at a British University in the future.

With a maximum class size of 10, this programme is intended for serious learners looking to maximize their progress.

 

MEALS

All meals are provided in the large, comfortable cafeterias on campus except on excursions when a packed-lunch is given to all students . Wholesome and varied food is served and special dietary requirements can be catered for. Please advise us at the time of enrolment if a student has any special dietary requirements. Please contact us for a sample menu.

 

BREAKAGE MEDICAL DEPOSITS AND GUARDIANSHIP FEES

Breakages and Medical Deposits: Please note that a deposit of £80 (Canterbury, Cambridge, London, Nottingham and Southampton), US$100 (Florida, Harvard, New York, Philadelphia, San Diego, San Francisco, and Yale) and CAN$100 (Toronto and Vancouver) or equivalent sum in Euros is payable in cash on arrival, and will be collected from all students on the first day of their course.

The breakages deposit will be returned to students with a deduction made if any for loss of keys and/or personal damage to any property of the school has occurred.

Students studying the US and Canada are also requested to pay a refundable deposit of US/CAN$100 to cover the insurance excess payable for any medical expenses in the event that the student is ill and requires treatment.

Please note that a guardianship fee of CAD$100.00 is payable on all junior courses in Toronto and Vancouver.

 

ACTIVITY PROGRAMMES

All Residential courses include a comprehensive Activity Programme of excursions, sports and activities – Full activity programme every afternoon and evening, including a variety of sports and other activities

Two full-day and two half-day excursions per week

Excursions include: Cambridge colleges London Oxford Punting on the river

A full and varied afternoon and evening activity programme is organised which will include a choice of sports (swimming, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, football) as well as other activities such as movie nights, drum workshops, karaoke night, student discos and bowling.

The school reserves the right to cancel or to offer substitute activities on the optional activities programmes in the event of fewer than 10 students opting for any individual activity.

 

SPECIALISED COURSES:

Our fantastic new courses for summer 2018 offer students the chance to study specialised skills for a variety of industries including technology and business. These courses aim to help develop skills for future careers and allow students to try something completely new. Each of these Specialised Courses is a three-week course, offering 60 lessons of focused training and development sessions. The specialised lessons are supplemented by 6 lessons (5 hours) of general English on 2 afternoons. Specialised course students will mix in with general programme students for meals and some activities. There will be some alternative activities and excursions for students on a specialised course, which will relate to their studies. ENGLISH FOR FUTURE LEADERS

While studying leadership with us, you will develop your knowledge and understanding of: Team-work and leading a team Debating skills, influencing people and political awareness Public speaking techniques and practice Business language and strategic problem solving Developing a business proposal and a sales strategy A final business focused project will bring together all of the topics studied. Students on this course will also have the opportunity to take part in talks by industry leaders and university representatives, as well as visit local businesses and world famous universities.
