More Information

Students at  Bethany will have 15 hours of classes per week, split across 5 mornings. Class sizes are small, with a maximum of 12 students per class, to ensure that all students  are provided with exciting and motivating lessons and get more personal attention from the teachers. Classes are taught by mother tongue, highly qualified teachers with specific expertise and experience in teaching young learners.

Every student' s knowledge of English is assessed on arrival to ensure placement in the appropriate level. Each student' s progress is monitored throughout their stay, including weekly progress checks, and a certificate is awarded on departure. Students also receive a written report from their teachers.

At Bethany Centre students live within the boarding houses. Boys and girls accommodation is completely separate.

Students share rooms of minimum 2 and maximum 4 beds. Rooms are comfortable and well furnished and there are plenty of showers and toilets - all clean and well maintained, many having been recently refurbished.

Bethany also has a number of single en-suite bedrooms for students who prefer to have their own private bathroom. These rooms are available at a small supplement. Please ask us for more details.

All boarding houses have social rooms with sofas, colour TVS, DVD player etc where students can relax, with friends, watch TV or DVD's, listen to music and play games.  There is also a kitchen where they can make drinks and snacks if they wish.

Qualified First Aid staff are on site at all times. Doctors are nearby. Passports, tickets and pocket money are kept secure by the Course Director on arrival.

The dining room serves a wide variety of healthy and balanced meals to cater for all dietary requirements and tastes. There is a delicious variety of hot and cold food provided for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Snacks and drinks are also available at break times and in the evenings.

The school programme offers a well balanced time table of English tuition, sport and fun activities combined with outings to recreational and cultural centres.

Excursions, which change weekly, usually take place every Wednesday and Sunday. On one afternoon per week there is an afternoon trip to Royal Tunbridge Wells or another local town.

The school has first class sports fields, including three football pitches, a cricket pitch, athletic track and floodlit sports pitch. It has also an impressive heated outdoor swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, an indoor sports hall and table tennis facilities and a high ropes adventure course.

For those students who do not like sporting activities there is a large and airy art studio and assembly hall  for activities such as dance, aerobics, drama and yoga. Discos, karaoke and evening entertainment nights are also held there.

At Bethany Centre, there is a wide range of activities and sports available every afternoon with at least 5 to choose from every day!

  •  Cricket/Rounders
  • Basketball
  • Rugby
  • Swimming
  • Aerobics
  • Art classes

Optional Afternoon Sports: These optional extra activities are off campus and lead by professional instructors. The school's staff will transport students to and from these activities. Please note that these activities do take place at the same time as the included activities and therefore students should only book them if they really like the sport as they will miss out on other activities.  - extra cost incurred. Airport Transfers – Transfers can be booked upon request. If you book an airport transfer, the school will collect your children from the airport/Eurostar station and bring them to the school. On departure they will take them back to the airport/Eurostar station, help them check in, help with their luggage and take them through to passport control (as far as the school staff can go). If your children are travelling as unaccompanied minors the school offers an additional waiting service so the staff will remain at the airport after they have handed your children to the airline. They will monitor the flight and they will not leave until the flight has taken off. Some airlines insist on this for unaccompanied minors!
