Covent Garden is in the heart of
London’s West End.
Covent Garden is a covered
market and was once a thriving
fruit and flower market place,
but was relocated in 1980 due to
increase in traffic congestion
and has since become a major
tourist attraction.
It boasts: bars, restaurants,
shops, and daily street
entertainment, the Royal Opera
House, the London Transport
Museum and an indoor market
with trendy shops.
Covent Garden is also a stone’s
throw from the famous Savoy
Hotel, and is within walking
distance to the Thames river.
It is also has theatres within
walking distance and is famous
for its Punch & Judy connections
(you can visit the Punch & Judy
pub) which is also mentioned in
Samuel Pepy’s (pronounced -
‘peeps’) diary.
Covent Garden is a hub of
successful businesses and is a
place where you can see
Londoners having lunch or drinks
after work alongside tourists.
Films have been made in and
around Covent Garden, and you
might just be lucky and spot the
odd celebrity or two.
